Appointments and Fees

Here at The Ashby Clinic we don’t try to sign you up to lots of regular appointments. We believe that our role is not to ‘fix’ you, but to use our expertise to support you on your way to a lasting recovery. Sometimes that may be simply one session. Other problems take longer and require more sessions. This will be discussed with you as part of your assessment.

What to expect

At your first appointment we will talk through the problems you have been experiencing.  We will also ask about details such as, previous medical history, work, sports and hobbies. We will then carry out a thorough examination involving looking at the problem area, as well as the areas around it. For example, if you have knee pain we would also check for any potential causes coming from your hips and feet.  This allows us to work out what the problem is and what needs to be done to get it sorted!

We have a range of treatment options available and will discuss with you what we feel needs to be done.  This will often involve a combination of “hands-on” manual therapy and carefully selected exercises for you to work on at home (which can be printed or emailed to you).  We are also able to offer treatment with Shockwave Therapy, ultrasound, acupuncture and electrical muscle stimulation.

What should I wear?

We need to be able to see the problem areas so please dress with this in mind!

For leg problems, you will need shorts or sensible underwear.

For shoulder/neck problems, you will need to remove your top, so ladies may wish to wear a strappy vest.

Do I have to be referred?

No, you can simply book yourself in for an appointment.

(please note, if you wish to use private medical insurance then your provider may require a referral by your GP)
